The cultural season doesn’t simply begin—it officially opens! On Friday, August 28, Stadhuisplein in Eindhoven transforms into a spectacular open-air stage for the national opening of the Dutch cultural season.
Experience an evening of live music, dance, theatre, cabaret, and inspiring performances by artists and companies appearing across the Netherlands this autumn. Philzuid, conducted by Duncan Ward, provides the musical backbone of the evening, joined by performers including Soy Kroon, Fresku, Karin Bloemen, Joël Borelli, Zoë Livay, and Iris Penning.

SAT 29 AUG | Brabants Trots
On Saturday evening, Philharmonie Brainport & Friends presents a festive concert celebrating the spirit of Brabant alongside musical influences from around the world. Featuring performances by Gerard van Maasakkers, Björn van der Doelen, and Music from the Orient, the programme highlights connection, diversity, and cultural exchange. Hosted by Jordy Graat.

ZO 30 AUG | Musical Awards: The Kick-Off
The opening weekend concludes with a spectacular celebration of musical theatre at Stadhuisplein. Hosts Frits Sissing and Marlijn Weerdenburg, together with more than 70 musical stars, officially launch the new theatre season.
Enjoy exclusive previews of more than 15 musicals, from brand-new productions such as CATS, The Bodyguard, and Dolly Dots – The Musical to audience favourites including PIAF and Hadestown. The show will also be broadcast live on NPO 1.
